Andrew H. Teklinski, MD
Andrew H. Teklinski, MD believes that a successful approach to cardiac
care involves teamwork between doctor and patient. He works closely with
each patient to assess their needs and develop their personal cardiac
profile. In this way, doctor and patient become a team with a common
goal to fight heart disease and improve heart health. Dr. Teklinski vows
to “always put my patient’s needs and welfare as my highest priority.”
Dr. Teklinski is trained in invasive and clinical cardiology including
cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, placement
of pacemakers, biventricular pacemakers, and implantable cardioverter
defibrillators. He is active in research and has published multiple
articles in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to his clinical roles,
Dr. Teklinski has had a distinguished career as a teacher and a clinical
investigator. Dr. Teklinski is also able to read and write fluently in
Polish.
Dr. Teklinski completed his cardiovascular fellowship
training at St. John's Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. Prior to
that, he was an internist for nearly 10 years in various positions. He
served in the U.S. Army, with staff positions at Ireland Army Hospital,
Fort Knox, Kentucky, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton,
Ohio. After leaving the active duty, he was in private practice in
Pensacola, Florida, and later, Edina, Minnesota. He remains in the
inactive Army Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
His academic appointments include assistant clinical
professor of medicine at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, and
assistant professor of medicine, Uniformed Service University of the
Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. Dr. Teklinski received Bachelor and
Master of Science degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He
received his medical degree from Wayne State University and completed
his internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu,
Hawaii.
